Cape Cod Pottery Trail

  • Perch Pottery 18 Carol Avenue Falmouth, MA, 02536 United States (map)

Join us for the inaugural Cape Cod Pottery Trail, a unique self-guided tour of artists’ studios showcasing the vibrant ceramic arts community of the Upper Cape. Perch Pottery will be a stop on the map, and will include guest artists Jo Mogilnicki of Saltwind Ceramics and painter Pauline Lim.

Twenty-seven ceramic artists across 14 locations will open their studios to the public for an immersive weekend of creativity, craftsmanship and community. The Cape Cod Pottery Trail spans several Upper Cape villages, including Falmouth, Bourne, Cataumet, Cotuit, Falmouth, Marstons Mills, Pocasset and Sagamore. Visitors will be able to explore artists’ private studios, many of which will be open to the public for the first time this weekend. There will be kiln openings, live demonstrations, and a chance to buy one-of-a-kind pieces directly from some of the Cape’s finest local ceramicists.

This celebratory inaugural weekend will kick-off with an Opening Reception on Friday, September 26 from 5-7 pm at Brick Kiln Farm (254 Brick Kiln Road, Falmouth). Guests will be able to meet the makers, hear the stories behind their creations and connect with the thriving pottery community of Cape Cod – all while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and drinks and taking in the beautiful samples of participating artists’ work on display. Guests are encouraged to pick up a Pottery Trail Passport, available at all participating studios and at the Brick Kiln Farm reception. With “stamps” from five or more studios, they can enter a raffle with works by artists Sue Wadoski, Kimberly Sheerin, Lynn Ruttman, and Hollis Engley.
